Hi, I’m Tracy Owens and I help patients with lingering, frustrating medical conditions such as Hashimoto's, IBS, Diabetes, migraines, menopausal issues, and stubborn weight issues. In addition, I have been a Board Certified Sports Dietitian for 12 years, where I specialize in sports nutrition, where I not only help athletes optimize their performance, but I have found many athletes also struggle with some of the same frustrating health issues that keep them from performing at their best.
I’m a Functional and Integrative Dietitian, I "rejuvenated" myself as a dietitian when I discovered Functional and Integrative Nutrition, which means I am not your average dietitian that gives out the same basic (boring) nutrition information to every single client. Instead, I dig a lot deeper and specialize in analyzing and assessing all of the facts and history behind your condition. Based on the information I gather, I then personalize my nutrition recommendations for you.
I am looking for root causes, such as micronutrient deficiencies, macronutrient imbalances, or gut microbiome disruptions. Overlooking the role of nutrition in numerous metabolic pathways, and using only prescriptions, often leads to a poor response to treatment.
I am dietitian on a mission to help identify the true root causes of illness and provide nutrition interventions that can promote health and healing.
I’ve been in practice for over 25 years and have lived in Raleigh, North Carolina, with my husband of 36 years. I am a mother of 4 grown children, 2 sons and 2 daughters, and my grandma name is Gracy, I am the grandma of the cutest little 2 year old. All of my kids were very athletic from childhood through college, and collectivelyplayed football, soccer, baseball, tennis, and swimming. Season after season,I recognized the value of sports nutritionand the connection to optimal performance.
As a sports dietitian, I teach athletes how to implement specific sports nutrition strategies so they can compete at their very best, stay injury free, and healthy. I work with all types of athletes, from high school to college athletes, teams, and adult athletes.
